Our Story
Raised in the Asphalt Business.
United Blacktop wasn’t built overnight. It was built from years spent learning the trade from the ground up.
From a young age, we were hands-on in every aspect of our father’s asphalt business, which he founded in 1996. I grew up learning the trade alongside the hot patching, paving, and sealcoating crews, gaining a deep understanding of how work comes together on the job site. My brother Chris spent his time with the line striping and powerwashing crews, developing an eye for detail and precision. Our youngest brother, Steven, worked with the sealcoating and hot patching crews, gaining an understanding of quality workmanship and accountability on every project. Together, we grew up immersed in every part of the trade, gaining experience in all aspects of the business.
Being born and raised on Long Island means understanding the local climate, traffic, and seasonal wear that affects asphalt. Long Island’s unique challenge is the region’s heavy clay soil content, which can shift, hold water, and put additional stress on pavements. Without proper preparation and understanding of the soil, driveways, parking lots, and courts can settle unevenly or crack prematurely. From freezing winters to heavy summer traffic, every job requires a practical approach that accounts for these realities. This local knowledge is part of everything we do, ensuring long-lasting results for residential, commercial, and athletic surfaces.
United Blacktop was built on that foundation. We took what we learned growing up in the trade and built a company focused on professionalism, communication, and reliability. The goal was simple: bring more structure and higher standards to an industry that often lacks both.
